April 13 (SeeNews) – Foreign direct investment (FDI) into Romania rose to 1.98 billion euro ($2.18 billion) in the first two months of 2023, up from 1.903 billion euro in the same period of 2022, the central bank, BNR, said on Thursday.
Net equity investment, including estimated net reinvestment of earnings, amounted to 1.575 billion euro, while intercompany lending totalled a net 405 million euro at the end of February, the central bank said in a balance of payments report, citing provisional data.
In 2022, FDI into Romania rose to 10.698 billion euro from 8.94 billion euro in the previous year.
