Overview: Foreign Heads of State and Government Congratulate Xi Jinping on His Election as Chinese President

BEIJING, — World leaders continued to congratulate Xi Jinping on his election as President of the People’s Republic of China.

The election reflects the Chinese people’s confidence in Xi Jinping’s valuable contribution to the cause of socialism, Cuban Communist Party Central Committee First Secretary and Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel said.

Cuba deeply honors the close friendship with Xi Jinping and the Chinese people, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the Chinese government, he added.

The wise decision-making by the PRC President and the important resolutions adopted in the two sessions have created a solid foundation for a bright future and prosperity for China, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov expressed confidence that under the outstanding leadership of the CPC led by Xi Jinping, the Chinese people will certainly be able to realize the grand plan of building a modern socialist country in every respect, and through Chinese-style modernization, advance the cause of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

The elections show that the philosophy of Xi Jinping’s rule has won the support of the entire nation, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon said.

Under Xi Jinping’s wise leadership, China’s international prestige and status have steadily risen, he added.

According to Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, under Xi Jinping’s leadership, China has developed rapidly, the standard of living of its people has steadily improved, and the country has continued to play a constructive role in international affairs.

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that under the leadership of Xi Jinping, China has achieved unprecedented development.

China’s international prestige has been greatly enhanced and the country is becoming an all-round strong nation, the Uzbek leader said, adding that Xi Jinping’s re-election as chairman of the PRC is a major event in China’s history.

Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has said he firmly believes that under the strong leadership of Xi Jinping, China will eventually achieve its second centenary goal.

Sultan of Brunei Haji Hassanal Bolkiah expressed his confidence that China will continue to play a constructive role in global and regional affairs.

In his message, Indonesian President Joko Widodo called on Indonesia and China, two strategic partners, to further strengthen cooperation and promote the prosperity of the two countries so as to continue to contribute to regional peace and stability.

Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is confident that as China enters a new stage of development, Xi Jinping will continue to lead China towards sustainable development and prosperity.

He said he looks forward to working with Xi Jinping to take bilateral relations to a new level.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that under the visionary leadership of Xi Jinping, China and the great Chinese nation have made great achievements in human affairs.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said he firmly believes that Xi Jinping will continue to lead China to outstanding achievements.

The friendship between the two countries is unbreakable, and Cambodia is ready to work with China to build a Cambodian-Chinese community with a common destiny, he said.

Noting that this year marks the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Japan-China Peace and Friendship Treaty, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said he would like to maintain ties with Xi Jinping and help build a constructive and stable Japan-China relationship.

Singapore President Halima Yacoub, Pakistani President Arif Alvi, Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and Bhutanese President Jigme Singye Wangchuck also sent their congratulations to Xi Jinping.
