European Athletics and Conica met at the renowned track manufacturer’s headquarters in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, yesterday (8 February 2023), for a high-level meeting to kick-off a new four-year partnership.
The partnership, which commenced on 1 January 2023, sees Conica adopt the status of Preferred Supplier of European Athletics in the ‘tracks and sport flooring’ category and will be designated as an Official Supplier at European Athletics events where their tracks are used.
The European Athletics delegation included President Dobromir Karamarinov and Marketing Implementation Manager, Martin Schmidt. They met with Conica CEO Chirag Shah, Conica Head of Global Marketing & Communication, Julio Fernando Fadel, and with Conica Regional Sales Manager, Andrzej Kulikowski, at the Conica offices and manufacturing plant in the northern Swiss city.
Following a fruitful and productive meeting in the morning, the European Athletics delegation were given a guided tour of Conica’s manufacturing plant. They were able to see first-hand Conica’s production process which offers system solutions that can be tailored to climatic conditions and the specific requirements of our sport. This is especially relevant to athletics in Europe, and it is all part of Conica’s ambition of always providing the best track an athlete can get.

Speaking after the meeting, European Athletics President Karamarinov said: “Following the discussions with our new partner Conica, we are looking forward to a bright future together. Most European athletes will have already competed on a Conica track and I’m sure they will be looking forward to returning to such a high-quality surface in the near future.”
Conica CEO Chirag Shah added: “It was great to host our colleagues from European Athletics at the Conica headquarters in Schaffhausen. Athletics is one of the core sports of our business and we look forward to strengthening our future collaboration even more.”
